Increasing Access of Wine in BC, Ontario, Quebec
Opening New Markets for Canadian WineriesThe governments of BC, Ontario, Quebec are working together so consumers have greater access to wines produced in their provinces. This agreement builds on previous announcements to offer greater access to BC wines across Canada in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Nova Scotia.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard and BC Premier Christy Clark said they are committed to improving the online ordering experience for consumers. They want to provide consumers with full and convenient online access to purchase wine produced in all three provinces.
This is great news for the country’s wine producing regions as they open new markets to sell their wines. They will also have enhanced ability to list their products with the liquor distributors of each province.
Christy Clark says, “This is good news for Canadians who love BC wine, for BC wineries and the 10,000 British Columbians whose jobs depend on a strong and growing wine industry. It’s a good example of what Canada’s three largest provinces can achieve when we work together.”
